Last night after putting the Tribe to bed, I heard a bird screeching outside in the dark. Tonight, FoTT and I sat outside with a glass of wine, enjoying the mild weather, looking across the fields as dusk turned to darkness. The Tribe were tucked up in bed exhausted after (another) enthusiastic Easter egg hunt that took them around the garden and field. It was completely silent; there wasn’t a breath of wind, when suddenly the screeching started again and the white form of a barn owl flew above our heads disappearing into the gloom of the field. We sat outside for a while longer listening to the screeching. The hunt for supper was obviously on.
