As we have been somewhat isolated over the last couple of weeks, we’ve managed to discover some fabulous online resources one of our favourites being the New England Aquarium. The clever staff at the aquarium are doing daily live videos at 4pm GMT so we have an amazing front row seat to see what goes on behind the scenes. We recently visited the aquarium, Nausicaa in Boulogne (a separate post on this will be written soon…), so this has been a great way to continue our interest in the underwater world.
In the last couple of weeks we have watched and learnt a little about green turtles, c/o Myrtle the Turtle – they are green because of the amount of sea kelp they eat, moray eels, starfish (they show how the stomach of the starfish comes out of its body to consume its prey …), penguins, lobsters, seahorses, sharks and more. And for anyone with children they have some great activities to do at home too. It is fascinating and absolutely worth watching. A huge thank you to the New England Aquarium and their amazing team.
